A SlideShare alternative for decks built in Keynote

If you build in Keynote and want a link to your slides, SlideShare is the name everyone knows. It is a public library, good for being found, not for showing a deck the way you built it. Linkdeck does the second job and not the first.

What SlideShare is for

Publishing slides to a large audience. Decks are searchable inside SlideShare and on the open web, can be embedded on other sites, and sit alongside millions of others. Reading is free and supported by ads. If being discovered by strangers is the goal, that reach is real, and Linkdeck has nothing like it.

What happens to a Keynote deck there

SlideShare takes a file such as a PDF or a PowerPoint and shows each slide as a static page. From Keynote the cleanest route is a PDF export, so builds collapse, transitions disappear and clips turn into stills. Viewers scroll through pages instead of watching the deck.

What Linkdeck adds to a deck you send

The deck plays as Keynote exported it, on any phone or laptop. On Pro: a password, an email gate that collects who opened it, time per slide, replace in place, a custom slug, and an end card with your name and colour instead of Linkdeck branding. There is no public directory of decks; people see a deck because you sent them the link.

Who should pick which

Pick SlideShare to publish a talk for strangers to find. Pick Linkdeck to send a Keynote to a client, an investor or a jury and have it play as built. Speakers often use both: SlideShare for the archive, a Linkdeck link on the last slide for the people in the room.

Questions

Can I upload a .key file directly?

No. Export the deck from Keynote for Mac (File → Export To → HTML), compress the folder, and upload the .zip.

Is my deck public on Linkdeck?

Anyone with the link can open it, unless you add a password or an email gate on Pro. Decks are not listed in any public directory or search on Linkdeck.

Can viewers download my slides?

There is no download button. Linkdeck hosts the playable deck only; if you want people to have a file, send a PDF alongside the link.

Send the talk as it played on stage

Export to HTML, compress, upload. The first deck is free; Pro (€12 a month) keeps the link permanent and lets you pick the slug.
