Send the recommendation deck as a link, not an attachment

If you build your client work in Keynote, the deck can go out as a link that plays in any browser. On Pro you see how long the client spent on each slide, which tells you what to open the next call with.

Where the attachment goes

The steering committee gets a 90 MB Keynote that half of them cannot open on Windows, or a PDF that drops the builds you used to stage the argument. Then it is forwarded twice, and you have no idea whether anyone reached the recommendation on slide 14.

What changes with a link

Keynote's HTML export keeps the deck as a deck, and Linkdeck plays it with Keynote's own web player.

  • It opens on Windows laptops, iPhones and Android phones, without Keynote.
  • Builds reveal the argument in the order you staged it.
  • Charts and text are drawn as you set them, not reflowed.
  • One link, so everyone discusses the same version.

Three steps

On your Mac, a few minutes.

  • In Keynote: File → Export To → HTML… into a new, empty folder.
  • Drop the folder on linkdeck.me (or a .zip of it).
  • Paste the link into the email to the client.

Pro features consultants use

Per-slide analytics shows time spent on each slide, by viewer session. The email gate asks for an address before the deck opens and lists who viewed it, including people it was forwarded to. A password keeps a confidential engagement confidential. Replace in place fixes the typo on slide 9 without sending a second link.

Pro is €12 a month for 10 decks up to 500 MB, with links that never expire. Free is 1 deck, 200 MB, and the link stops working after 3 days. Compare plans on the pricing page.

One honest limitation

Linkdeck is one login per account: no seats, no shared workspace, no CRM integration. If your firm needs a data room with permissions per document, use a data-room tool. If you are one consultant sending a Keynote, this is lighter.

Questions

Can I see who opened the deck?

On Pro, with the email gate on, you see each address that opened it and how often. Without the gate you see views, countries, devices and time per slide, but not names.

Can the client download my Keynote file?

No. The link plays the HTML export in the browser; the .key file is never uploaded.

Does it work for PowerPoint decks?

Only via Keynote: open the .pptx in Keynote, check it, then export to HTML. Some PowerPoint animations may change on the way.
