Questions
Direct answers first, details after.
Can I share a Keynote as a link?
Yes. Export the Keynote to HTML, upload the ZIP, get a URL that plays the real deck on any device. Free links last 3 days; Pro links never expire.
How to send a presentation without an attachment
Attachments bounce, get flattened, or land in spam. Send a link instead: the Keynote plays in the browser on any device. Limits: 200 MB free, 500 MB Pro.
Does Keynote's HTML export keep music and video?
Yes, embedded audio and video survive the export, per Apple. On a phone, Linkdeck plays video inline and holds audio until the first tap.
Why does my Keynote look different on Windows?
Because it was converted. PowerPoint substitutes fonts, drops Keynote-only animations and redraws effects. The fix: do not convert, send a link instead.
How long does a Linkdeck link last?
Free decks expire 3 days after upload (24 hours if you did not sign in). Pro decks stay up while you subscribe. What happens at expiry and how to extend.
Do viewers need an Apple ID to open a shared Keynote?
With iCloud, only if you restrict the link to invited people. With a Linkdeck link, never: any browser on any device, no account, no app.
Can I share a Keynote with someone who doesn't have Keynote?
Yes, four ways: iCloud view link, PDF, movie export, or HTML export hosted as a link. Only the last keeps builds, audio and hyperlinks clickable.
Can I see who viewed my Keynote?
Not in Keynote or iCloud. A hosted link can count opens, show country, device and time per slide, and collect an email before viewing. What is possible.
Why won't my Keynote send by email?
Most email stops at 20–25 MB, and a Keynote with video is far past it. What the limits are, what Mail Drop does, and how to send the deck as a link.
Can I share a Keynote with someone on a Chromebook?
Not as a .key file: there is no Keynote for ChromeOS. What works in Chrome instead (iCloud or a hosted HTML export) and which keeps the deck playing.
